The 1999 Jaguar
XJR is a four-door supercharged compact luxury sedan. The XJR is Jaguar's
slowest seller in the model lineup. The XJR competes in the luxury market,
but what separates it from other luxury sedans is its sheer power and
performance. The XJR competes against such models as the Lexus LS400,
the Mercedes S-Class, and the Audi A8. Most buyers of the XJR are college
graduates who are married and have an average household income of $200,000
per year.

The new 2000 Jaguar
S-TYPE is a 4 door rear wheel drive luxury sport compact sedan. The
S-TYPE will become the entry level model for the Jaguar lineup. Jaguar
hopes it will become its top seller with anticipated sales of 20.000
cars in North America. Marketed to attract a new generation of customers,
the S-TYPE will compete in the luxury market against Lexus, BMW, and
Mercedes. With its base price to be set in the low 40s, the S-TYPE will
now be available to a broader audience in the luxury market.
